Our Field Service Techs are responsible for performing repairs on various kinds of electromechanical equipment at our customers’ facilities.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver and pick-up freight
• Manage proof of delivery paperwork from customers
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks
• Perform inspections of vehicle before and after deliveries
• Maintain communication with all resources associated with deliveries and pick-ups
• Support MTI by building rapport with customers
• Adhere to all company and customer Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality Management protocols

PM Technician

● Troubleshoot vibration problems
● Collect and analyze equipment data
● Properly grease and lubricate equipment
● Inspect equipment for indication of possible failure
● Identify equipment that would benefit from PM technologies
● Review collected PM data
● Participate in root cause analysis and provide insight with the predictive tools and data analysis
● Participate in evaluation of analyses and make recommendations relative to findings regarding maintenance
● Maintain communication with all resources associated with PM activities
● Accountability for use and maintenance of systems used
● Support activities to ensure timely, effective, and efficient service to customers
● Support PM activities by building rapport with site customers
● Follow a daily customer site route using company vehicle

Industrial Electromechanical Field Service Technician

Motor Technology, Inc., a national leader in providing superior quality and value in electro-mechanical repairs and services to our customers, is seeking an experienced Industrial Electromechanical Service Technician. Since 1981, we have been an integral part of keeping national industries up and running smoothly and efficiently. We are a family-owned company that builds, services, and sells industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related driven equipment for advanced electric motor systems. Our Field Service Techs are responsible for performing repairs on various kinds of electromechanical equipment at our customers’ facilities.
Responsibilities:
*Read job cards to determine job status, work authorizations/limitations, estimate, description of problems, and/or expected serviceability.
*Test electromechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (AC or DC).
*Disassemble electromechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration, and condition.
*Clean electromechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including, but not limited to: parts washers, steamers, caustic tank, glass beaders, etc.
*Measure for or note proper placement of parts. Correctly requisition needed parts.
*Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electromechanical assemblies, including, but not limited to: bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, clutch rotors, tachs, fans, end shields, etc.
*Perform laser alignments of driver to driven equipment.
*Perform dynamic balancing using handheld data collectors.
*Take vibration reading, perform quick analysis, and verbally discuss finding with customers.
*Retest reassembled electromechanical equipment for proper output and operation.
*Complete required forms on computer system for each job accurately.
*Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, and other equipment as needed.
*Lift (using forklift or overhead crane), tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties.
*Assemble, move, set up, and dismantle tools and machinery.
*Read plans.
*Operate cranes, gantries, and trucks.
*Use tools properly.
*Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
*Travel daily to various customer sites within a 2-hour radius.
*Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
*High school diploma or equivalent
*5+ years of industrial related electromechanical experience
*Millwright experience
*Mechanical aptitude
*Ability to understand, perform, and retain skill-related training, and operational and safety procedures
*Good computer skills
*Provide tools and toolbox
*Valid Driver’s License
*Able to pass a DOT physical
*Able to work over-time

Industrial Electromechanical Field Service Technician Apprentice

Since 1981, we have been an integral part of keeping national industries up and running smoothly and efficiently. We are a family-owned company that builds, services, and sells industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related driven equipment for advanced electric motor systems. Our Service Techs are responsible for performing repairs on various kinds of electromechanical equipment at our customers’ facilities. Our Apprentices are part of a 5-year program in which they gain valuable hands-on experience.
Qualifications:
*High school diploma or equivalent
*3 years of industrial related electromechanical experience
*Mechanical aptitude
*Ability to understand, perform, and retain skill-related training, and operational and safety procedures
*Good computer skills
*Ability to provide and purchase necessary tools and toolbox
*Valid Driver’s License
*Able to pass a DOT physical
*Able to work over-time
*Completion of a trade or technical program preferred, but not required

Manual Machinist

Manual Machinist – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts needed
Job Summary:

Motor Technology, Inc., a national leader in providing superior quality and value in electro-mechanical repairs and services to our customers, is seeking a Manual Machinist for our machine shop. Since 1981, we have been an integral part of keeping national industries up and running smoothly and efficiently. We are a family-owned company that builds, services, and sells industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related driven equipment for advanced electric motor systems. Our Machinists are responsible for performing complex operation of machine tools to produce/fabricate precision parts for industrial motors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operations on engine lathes, vertical/horizontal mills, and vertical lathes
  • Interpret blueprints to determine critical dimensions and machine set up
  • Read micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicators and other precision measuring and test equipment as required
  • Set up welder and perform welding tasks using GMAW, GTAQ, SMAW
  • Maintain low tolerances as indicated by specifications or drawings
  • Determine speeds and feeds to obtain proper surface finish
  • Safe operation of Forklift within machine shop environment
  • Lifting and rigging of heavy components of various configurations and weights
  • Safe overhead crane operation
  • Adhere to all company EH&S and QMS processes
  • Other duties as required, including some disassembly/assembly, repair, and rebuilding of industrial equipment

Requirements:

  • Experience setting up and operating manual lathes and mills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Able to read and interpret standard and metric dimensions from blueprints
  • Able to perform basic preventive maintenance on machine shop equipment
  • Able to read micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicators and other precision measuring and test equipment
  • Good computer skills
  • Able to work overtime; typically throughout the week and occasionally on weekends
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

The following are not required, but highly desirable in a candidate:

  • Welding experience
  • Technical/vocational degree in Machining
  • Experience in CAD highly
  • Experience with Conversation/Manual CNC machining
