Outside Sales Representative

Motor Technology, Inc., a national leader in providing superior quality and value in electro-mechanical repairs and services to our customers, is seeking an enthusiastic and focused Outside Sales Territory Manager to manage the relationship between MTI and the manager’s assigned group of customers or territories. Since 1981, we have been an integral part of keeping national industries up and running smoothly and efficiently. We are a family-owned company that builds, services, and sells industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related driven equipment for advanced electric motor systems. Our Outside Sales Territory Managers achieves sales and profit objectives through a consultative selling approach and through leveraging existing relationships to grow and expand sales and market penetration.
Responsibilities:
*Develop, manage, and grow intimate, customer-centric relationships with customers across the territory. Leverage full mastery of the territory sales management role and model the required technical and commercial competencies required to build strong customer relationships.
*Create and execute a robust business plan each year.
Interface with key cross-functional areas such as Shop, Estimating, and Inside Sales to ensure that customer requirements are met.
*Develop and solicit business from new accounts.
*Customer project management.
*Target key accounts and penetrate them.
*Increase the territory and account revenues.
*Plan and organize daily work schedule to call on existing and prospective accounts.
*Master product information / application knowledge through training and personal efforts.
*Develop effective sales presentations tailored uniquely to each account.
*Have an organized selling system with excellent follow up capability.
*Keep management informed through the CRM system.
*Manage opportunity list and grow the prospect list.
*Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
*Ability to multi-task, set priorities, problem solve, meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and organization, set goals, work as part of a team, and to interact with all levels of customers and internal support teams.
*At least five (5) years Electro-Mechanical sales experience, which included customer service, and inbound/outbound customer sales and contacts.
*Knowledge or familiarity of the electric motor and industrial gearbox industries, including product mix, service offerings, and external market/customers.
*Excellent computer skills (proficient in Microsoft Office software) and strong written and verbal communication skills
*Ability to create and/or generate sales potentials and leads.
*Ability to successfully present and close sales opportunities.
*Ability to understand technical specifications or information (engineering specifications, mechanical specifications, etc.).
*A valid driver’s license and ability to drive/travel to customer locations.
*Prefer prior experience working in or selling for a motor shop service or motor shop sales environment.

Industrial Electromechanical Field Service Technician

Motor Technology, Inc., a national leader in providing superior quality and value in electro-mechanical repairs and services to our customers, is seeking an experienced Industrial Electromechanical Service Technician. Since 1981, we have been an integral part of keeping national industries up and running smoothly and efficiently. We are a family-owned company that builds, services, and sells industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related driven equipment for advanced electric motor systems. Our Field Service Techs are responsible for performing repairs on various kinds of electromechanical equipment at our customers’ facilities.
Responsibilities:
*Read job cards to determine job status, work authorizations/limitations, estimate, description of problems, and/or expected serviceability.
*Test electromechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (AC or DC).
*Disassemble electromechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration, and condition.
*Clean electromechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including, but not limited to: parts washers, steamers, caustic tank, glass beaders, etc.
*Measure for or note proper placement of parts. Correctly requisition needed parts.
*Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electromechanical assemblies, including, but not limited to: bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, clutch rotors, tachs, fans, end shields, etc.
*Perform laser alignments of driver to driven equipment.
*Perform dynamic balancing using handheld data collectors.
*Take vibration reading, perform quick analysis, and verbally discuss finding with customers.
*Retest reassembled electromechanical equipment for proper output and operation.
*Complete required forms on computer system for each job accurately.
*Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, and other equipment as needed.
*Lift (using forklift or overhead crane), tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties.
*Assemble, move, set up, and dismantle tools and machinery.
*Read plans.
*Operate cranes, gantries, and trucks.
*Use tools properly.
*Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
*Travel daily to various customer sites within a 2-hour radius.
*Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
*High school diploma or equivalent
*5+ years of industrial related electromechanical experience
*Millwright experience
*Mechanical aptitude
*Ability to understand, perform, and retain skill-related training, and operational and safety procedures
*Good computer skills
*Provide tools and toolbox
*Valid Driver’s License
*Able to pass a DOT physical
*Able to work over-time

Industrial Electromechanical Field Service Technician Apprentice

We are a family-owned company that builds, services, and sells industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related driven equipment for advanced electric motor systems. Our Service Techs are responsible for performing repairs on various kinds of electromechanical equipment at our customers’ facilities. Our Apprentices are part of a 5-year program in which they gain valuable hands-on experience.
Qualifications:
*High school diploma or equivalent
*3 years of industrial related electromechanical experience
*Mechanical aptitude
*Ability to understand, perform, and retain skill-related training, and operational and safety procedures
*Good computer skills
*Ability to provide and purchase necessary tools and toolbox
*Valid Driver’s License
*Able to pass a DOT physical
*Able to work over-time
*Completion of a trade or technical program preferred, but not required
